Canadian and Korean Skaters in International Competition*

Next Training Session
 October 7th

4:45 p.m. — 6:15 p.m.

The 2001 — 2002 speed skating season has begun. The HealthSouth Speed Skating Club will hold its next training session at the HealthSouth Training Center on Sunday, October 7th.

For new skaters, make certain that you wear long pants and a long sleeved shirt. We will provide you with skates, a helmet, and a neck protector. Even though we have some gloves, we urge you to bring your own.

You should arrive at the rink at least thirty minutes in advance. This allows you to be fitted for skates and ready to go on the ice as soon as the session starts.

Shop at Albertson's To Help Speed Skating!

The Southern California Speed Skating Association is now a member of the Albertson's Community Partner Program.  Every time you or your friends buy groceries at Albertson's and use your SCSSA Community Partners Card Albertson's donates a little money to the SCSSA.

Its a great fund raiser.  It costs you nothing to participate.  Just have the cashier swipe your Community Partners Card at the cash register.  If you have friends or neighbors who shop at Albertson's you can give them a card and they can help to SCSSA too!

So, the next time you go to the grocery store, please remember to use your Albertson's Card.  If you need a card please let me or Tommy Wheeler know.  Tommy was kind enough to set up the Albertson's Program for the SCSSA.  Let's all work to make it a great success.
